Ashwini Parsana, PhD
As a SEN editor, Ashwini Parsana has maintained strong working relationships with university departments, and has completed hundreds of projects for academicians, biotech companies, and private foundations. She has also created award-winning conference presentations and academic teaching materials.
Dr. Parsana has published first-author articles in peer-reviewed journals and encyclopedias and has written NSF and NIH grants. Her doctoral dissertation was focused on neuronal responses in the amygdala to emotionally salient social signals. Dr. Parsana has served as a contracts and grants officer at UCSF’s Research Management Services, where she prepared and submitted grant proposals to federal and private non-profit agencies (e.g., NIH, CDC, Buffett Foundation, Gates Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Working with the Pediatrics and Ob/Gyn departments, she handled multiple time-sensitive projects and communicated effectively with faculty, administrators, and funding agencies to secure and manage grants for life-saving research. More recently, Dr. Parsana worked as a user experience researcher at Medable, a patient-centric clinical trials company. She collaborated with five product teams to improve the experience of physicians and patients undergoing clinical trials. |
